Many Ghanaians have criticized the reliable midfielder who plays for English powerhouse Arsenal for falling short of expectations.
The 29-year-old thanked Ghanaians for their continuous support in a recent statement he shared on Facebook after the team was eliminated from the competition.
He asserted that their top priority was to provide Ghanaians a cause for celebration, but that after Uruguay defeated the Black Stars, things didn’t go as planned.
“It was our biggest wish to give Ghanaians something to cheer about but unfortunately it didn’t go as we wanted. I want to say a huge thank you for the unconditional support from home and across the world. With the support of God we will come back stronger🙏,” his post reads.
